About capsules
Our capsules contain an animal product. They are made with gelatin from cows' hooves. Capsules are quick and convenient, a must for teenagers and anyone who does not know how to boil water.

There is the option to provide your own capsules. Purchase OHCO in its powder form. This does not contain any animal products. The powder can then be made into capsules by obtaining bulk vegetarian capsules that are usually available in health food stores. In addition, rice papers also allow you to take the herbs without tasting them. These are probably harder to find.

About powder
Powdered concentrates may also be consumed as a beverage. Mix one measure (1/4 tsp.) with hot water and stir well with something non-metallic. (Using a wooden chopstick works great.) The amount of water can be varied to taste. Some like just enough water to dilute the herbs and to chase this thick mixture down with water or juice. Some like to make a full cup of tea to sit and sip. You can trade two capsules for one measure of tea. Some save powder for home or office and use caps when on the go.

The really adventurous do as they do in Taiwan. Place one measure on your tongue and follow with water. You cannot breathe in, cough, or laugh when trying this method. It's sort of like a capsule-less capsule and works well if you need a quick dose of Cold Snap before going into a mall.

If your powder did not come with a measuring spoon attached, please call our office and we will be happy to mail you one.
